Claire (she/her) was born in Abilene and has called Lubbock home for most of her life. A graduate of All Saints Episcopal School and Lubbock High, she later earned diplomas in healthcare documentation and veterinary assisting from Penn Foster College. But her longest-running credential? Over 20 years of knitting experience!
Claire picked up the needles as a way to channel her ADHD energy and focus—long before fidget spinners were a thing—and quickly fell in love with the fiber arts. Knitting has become her go-to comfort, creative outlet, and connection point with others.
At The Yarny Way, Claire offers private knitting instruction and helps lead the Stitch & Story Club, where her love of fiction and classic literature shines through. When she’s not crafting, you’ll find her curled up with a good book, a cat on her lap, and a big sweet tea within reach.
Outside the fiber world, Claire works with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and is a fierce advocate for inclusivity. She’s passionate about making creative spaces more welcoming, accommodating, and joyful for people of all kinds and capabilities.
