Jared Burgoon (he/they) has been knitting since 2018, but crafting has always been part of his life. He grew up surrounded by creativity—embroidering with his grandma, latch hooking with his mom, and turning pens with his dad. When he discovered knitting, everything clicked. It quickly became his favorite way to slow down, focus, and stay grounded—especially during busy days at work.
Jared especially enjoys making shawls, scarves, and beanies, and brings both patience and playfulness to his teaching. He works full-time at the Burkhart Center and comes from a family of educators—so helping others learn new skills is in his DNA. Starting in October (right after the Texas State Fair and South Plains Fair!), Jared will begin teaching knitting classes at The Yarny Way, and he can’t wait to share his love of yarn with you.
