Stitch & Story Club is The Yarny Way’s cozy online gathering for fiber lovers who love a good story. 

In 2026, Stitch & Story will travel the world through fairy tales and folktales. Each month we’ll gather online to listen to short traditional stories from a featured culture — stories chosen for warmth, imagination, and easy listening while we stitch together.

  • January – Scandinavian & Nordic
    Hearth stories, winter magic, trolls, quiet courage

  • February – Celtic (Irish & Scottish)
    Fairy folk, transformations, kindness rewarded

  • March – West African
    Tricksters, cleverness, community wisdom

  • April – Japanese
    Nature spirits, animals, gentle moral tales

  • May – Indigenous North American
    Creation stories, respect for the land, animals as teachers

  • June – Middle Eastern
    Folktales of hospitality, journeys, quiet magic

  • July – Indian Subcontinent
    Fables, clever queens, moral storytelling

  • August – Chinese
    Harmony, balance, folklore tied to seasons

  • September – Eastern European
    Baba Yaga–adjacent energy, but choose the cozier ones 😉

  • October – Mexican & Latin American
    Magical realism roots, spirit stories, warmth rather than spooky

  • November – Jewish Folktales
    Wisdom tales, humor, community values

  • December – Global Winter Stories
    Short winter tales from many cultures as a gentle wrap-up
